The 2013 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) is the fourth DHS survey to be implemented in Nigeria by the National Population Commission (NPC). It is the Commission's responsibility to collect, collate, analyse, and disseminate population census and survey data at all levels that contribute to policy formulation and population activity coordination in the country. The 2013 NDHS is the fifth in the series of DHS surveys taking place in the country, which first started in Nigeria at the national level in 1990.

Review Workshop of Nigeria Census 2006 took place at Minna, Niger State between 8th and 12th April 2013. As part of the strategy for preparation for the next census, the Commission organized a workshop to review the 2006 Population and Housing Census.
