Functions of the Chairman The chairman is the Chief Executive Officer and the chairman of the body of 37 Commissioners. PERSONALITY PROFILE
Born in Gindiri, Plateau State of Nigeria on 16 th August 1947 , Samu'ila Danko Makama, is a political science graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University , Zaria . He also attended the Institute of Public Service Training Centre , University of Connecticut , in 1975/76 where he obtained a Certificate in Project Analysis and Management. He has served in several capacities in the public service of Nigeria , rising to the position of Federal Permanent Secretary. He retired in 1996. Since then, he has been actively engaged in the development process of the country. He was appointed the Chairman of National Population Commission by the President in October 2001. During his public service career, he served as Nigeria 's governor to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the National Representative to the African Petroleum Producers Association (APPA). He holds the traditional title of Ubandoman Pyem Chiefdom of Plateau State. He is married with four children. |
